Honey Garlic Salmon
INGREDIENTS
1. 4 salmon fillets about 250 grams each, skin off or on
2. Salt and pepper, to season
3. 1/2 teaspoon paprika (mild, sweet or smokey)
4. 2 tablespoons butter
5. 4 cloves garlic, finely chopped or minced
6. 4 tablespoons honey
7. 1 tablespoon water
8. 2 teaspoons soy sauce
9. 1 tablespoon fresh squeezed lemon juice.
10. Lemon wedges to serve
INSTRUCTIONS
1. Adjust the oven shelf to the center of your oven.
Preheat oven to broil/grill settings on medium heat.
2. Season salmon with salt, pepper, and paprika. Set it
aside.
3. Heat butter in a skillet or pan over medium-high heat
until melted. Add the garlic and saute for a minute, until fragrant. Pour in
the honey, water and soy sauce and let the flavors heat up and combine. Add
lemon juice to it and stir well to combine all the flavors.
4. dd the salmon steaks to the sauce in the pan and cook
each fillet (skin side down if skinned) for 3-4 minutes, or until golden,
basting the top with the pan juices. Season with salt and pepper to taste (if
desired).
5. Optional -- add lemon wedges around the salmon (add a
strong lemon flavor).
Return the pan to your oven to broil/grill the salmon one more time for 5-6 minutes, or cook the salmon to your liking until the top of the salmon is nicely charred.
6. To serve, drizzle with sauce and a squeeze of lemon juice. Serve with steamed vegetables, over rice or with a salad.
